Following House passage today of the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (H.R. 2353), Congressman Mike Bishop (MI-08) issued the following statement. This legislation now heads to the President's desk to become law.

"As a result of tax reform, our economy is booming, with unemployment at its lowest in decades and job openings at a record high. Currently, there are more open jobs than job seekers, and while this may seem positive, we need to close the skills gap by empowering more Americans to enter or reenter the workforce," said Congressman Bishop. "This bill will go a long way to connect Michigan students with the training they need to transition into our workforce. Now more than ever, it's critical we invest in our workforce to ensure everyone can achieve the American dream and find fulfilling work."
